About us

The SassodiSole winery is a family-run business. It is located in a unique area within the north-eastern side of the municipality of Montalcino and the Natural Artistic Park of Val d'Orcia, recently named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The 10 ha vineyard is located 300 meters above sea level and faces south and south-west. Our vineyard cultivates the native Sangiovese vine, which is cultivated with the spurred cordon method, following the authentic techniques and traditions of the agronomic community of Montalcino in biological way.

The Terzuoli family has always wanted to obtain the highest quality for their products according to the key principles of the Montalcino community. In this sense the family is proud to carry out a careful manual selection of the grapes, before aging in 3500-5000 liter Slavonian oak barrels.

Since the 17th century, the Terzuoli family has always been involved in the agricultural sector. In the 70s Bruno and Graziella managed to start a new wine business by combining their peasant origins, the love of wine and mutual love. At the dawn of their business, the Terzuolis began planting the Sangiovese vine for the first time, even though their main activity remained wheat and legumes. They educated their only son Roberto to follow the same principles of passion and respect for nature and the land on which he grew up. Roberto's knowledge of the area further expanded when he studied agriculture in high school. Roberto has also collaborated with some of the most famous wineries producing Brunello di Montalcino. Thanks to these experiences, Roberto seized the opportunity to expand the family business. To keep up with Roberto's vision, the SassodiSole winery was expanded so that 10 hectares of land could be dedicated to wine production. Furthermore, a recently equipped cellar has been created to manage the increased volume of grapes harvested.

Today Roberto is SassodiSole's agronomist and oenologist, but he also deals with the promotion and marketing of the company's products
